Is Minecraft still popular?

Same with mine. My bestfriend growing up did have a father that did play video games which was rare. He actually started playing on PC back in the day and carried on with console gaming when my friend was old enough.

I have an uncle that played games since the late 80s. I think it is great when people have hobbies like this though where they can connect with their kids. I am always telling people that don't play video games to give them a try. Even if it is Switch games that are primarily for kids. They can still have fun with or without their kids playing with them.
