    VR Headsets... Yay or Nay?

With the Meta Quest 3 and the Apple Vision Pro being the talk of the town, I figured I would ask what all of you think of VR right now.

I know some people use VR headsets with drones which is a pretty cool feature but outside of that, I have like no interest in them and I feel like I could be alone with this cause it is all I see people talking about.

You are not alone! I have never had any interest in them. Not even for drones. I have an issue with my eyes that makes me prone to bad migraines so I can't even use one if I wanted to. I was told by my doctor to just avoid them.

Big NAY. I am not a fan. I have tried a few and it just isn't for me. I am also now glued to my phone either or some sort of giant tech nerd. I like my PC and my console. That is about it. lol

I had one and ended up returning it. I just had no use care for it. Same with my smart watch. I couldn't return that though. Some tech just isn't for me I guess.

          I did this too haha

I got a smart watch thinking I would use it all the time and I used it for maybe 2 months and haven't used it since. I really thought it would come in handy at work and it really doesn't lol

A friend of mine got the new Apple RV whatever they call it. I did check it out. It is basically just a smart phone you wear. Nothing special IMO. Like it has a cool dinosaur VR app thing built in but nothing else stood out to me.

The newest one is priced at $3,000!!!

I feel like the prices will likely bottom out around $1,200 in a few years. Then they will have more affordable options for people just like they did with smartphones and before you know it, you will see like 1 in every 5 people wearing them in public. Cringe!

This is like when the tablet trend started. So many people had to have them but very few actually used them on a regular basis. Like they are handy for travel, work, and if you are an artist but that is about it!

I forgot about tablets lol Like I do not know anyone that even owns one other than my mother and she never uses the thing. She won it at some event she was at. She may have even given it away at this point.

It was a short lived trend. I think this is why there are only a few good ones now and the rest are just generic cheap things. There is not a large enough market for it. Just like 3D tvs.

Do I want one right now? Nah. Will I eventually get one in the future? Maybe.

I feel like it is just too ahead of the time and will have more use cases in the future. It just isn't useful enough for most people yet.

This is how most people seem to feel about it. Some do like them and are investing in them now but I think in terms of the general public, there is still a low interest in them right now. Like probably less than 15% of the population cares. Unlike phones that are over 80%.
