Do you like celebrating you birthday?

For whatever reason, I have not liked it in a long time. I think that is because when I was younger, my family would always find something to argue or complain about. Like other holidays, it is just hard for me to enjoy celebrating.

    How about you?

I don't mind it because I know my wife enjoys it. If it was not for her and our son, I probably wouldn't even acknowledge it lol No one enjoyed birthdays after a certain age. It is just a reminder you are getting old.

I mean it isn't something I will say I enjoy but I am not bothered by it. I think celebrating birthdays tends to be more of an event for young adults and kids. Women seem to enjoy it more than men too.

I am indifferent. I like to do something for my birthday but I don't like the entire day to be about me and I don't like being showered in gifts. I just like to go out to eat with family/friends and take a day off from work.

Nope. Not really a thing I ever enjoyed, even as a kid. I did not like focus being all on me. I was always shy and recluse. So it makes me uncomfortable. The worst thing you could do to me is tell a restaurant it is my birthday and they send out people that sing to me. My brother did that for my 21st birthday and I felt like I was going to die.

This is pretty much how I feel. I know other people enjoy celebrating it so I am fine with it. It isn't something I look forward to or anything but I like to see people happy, especially friends and family.

I can take it or leave it. Not a big deal to me. Not something I will go out of my way for or to avoid. I don't like people making a fuss over me though so that can be annoying.

I can see this as being a reason to enjoy it myself so I fully get this. I mean if I had my "own" family, it would be different. It isn't the same as celebrating it with siblings, parents, aunts, ect. I guess.

I understand. I think a lot of people feel this way. It is different for families that live together vs family that doesn't.

I certainly enjoy celebrating way more with my wife and kids than my uncles and aunts!
