When do you think we will colonize Mars?

More and more people are talking about it these days. Saying that it can help us and the planet. I am just not so certain we are anywhere closer than we were 50 years ago. It is a HUGE task that I feel is still far too much out of our reach and I can't see it happening in my lifetime. I think we are still a few hundred years out at this point. In could be wrong though.

I honestly don't know. I think they have been talking about it since the '80s but only seriously in the last 15 or so years. I just don't see it happening soon personally. We need some sort of tech breakthrough and advancements and I hate to say it, but for all the people in the world, we aren't exactly seeing amazing inventors popping up like we once did.

I still think it will happen sooner rather than later because we are due for some sort of massive breakthrough. I think once they can figure out a way to make batteries and things like that last a long time and expel little energy or waste, we will be within 20 years of it.

I don't think it will happen at all. Not because we won't try but we will fail. I think there are obstacles in space and even here on earth we have not actually found out about yet. Like I think being too far from the sun will have negative effects on humans.

I think you might be right. I feel like there is too much we just don't understand. Like yeah we can send machines through space but human life or life in general is a bit different.

I had this talk at work a few weeks ago lol

We mostly all agreed that it will not happen for at least another 100 years. I think we will see people go to Mars, but not stay there.
