Dealing with Rust on RC Boat Parts?

I've noticed some rust on my RC boat parts, and I'm wondering how to deal with it. Any suggestions for removing and preventing rust?

Use a gentle abrasive like aluminum foil or a rust eraser to remove the rust. Afterwards, apply a rust inhibitor or a light coat of oil to prevent future corrosion.
