    Is Minecraft still popular?

I mean I am sure it popular among kids but for adult players?

I played awhile ago when a friend from another forum was hosting his own server. It was fun but I only had fun with the game when I was playing with other people. Once his server got shut down, I couldn't find anther server that was just adults. So I pretty much stopped playing in 2017.

Anyways, does anyone here play still? Have you ever played?

Yeah it is still kicking! I mean it still holds one of the largest consistent averages of player bases in the world. I still play every now and again. I have to be in the mood for it thought cause I burned myself out on it when I first started playing it. Now I get too bored with it.

Quick Stats: On this page, you will see Minecraft Live Player Count or the players currently playing the game. How many players playing it on a monthly average playing Minecraft each and every month. Together with the number of maximum players or peak players every month. These preliminaries settled, he did not care to put […]

      To give you an idea.

As of posting this in the last 30 minutes, there have been 1.1 million people playing it worldwide. Roblox seems to have become more popular in recent years and I really can't figure that one out lol

Wow... That is insane! Also even more insane that Roblox of all games seems to be more popular than Minecraft now!! I don't understand this one at all either. I tried playing it when it was new and it just felt awful.

Minecraft will likely continue to stay popular because it gains new younger players every year. I am fine with it. I like that this is the sort of game kids are getting hooked on because it allows creative freedom and helps build social skills. You can also make it a learning experience too.

I started playing it when I was 10. I think that may be around the time when it first launched, I am not entirely sure. I don't play it much these days though. I have it installed on my PC though and will play it once in a while just to check out new updates but I can't say I have played in recent months. Probably not since last summer when I was helping my aunt set it up for my younger cousin.

I play this with my son! I think it can be a lot of fun for adults still and I know it is still insanely popular just based on my son and his friends as well as other family's children being really into the game.

I don't think anyone understands Roblox and why it is popular. That one is almost entirely children playing it though or creeps that want to talk to kids. Minecraft has all age groups from 5 up to elderly enjoying it.

That is so wholesome dude! I love when dads play video games with their kids like this. It is a good bonding exercise and you can teach them things within games like this that challenge them to creative and think for themselves.

I just like having stuff that we can bond over that we both enjoy. I think this is more common with younger dads these days. I know my father would have never sat down and played a video game with me lol

I don't think Minecraft is going to be going away any time soon. I can see this game being active even 10 years from now. How old is it at this point? 14 years old?

I asked people at work about it and low and behold, someone I work with does play it. He plays it with his younger brother though. He is 13 and the guy I work with is 23.

Minecraft has been popular since 2012 really. I mean it was popular at the start but really blew up that year and took off. Like by 2014, I knew several people that were playing it. None of them play it today, they got bored of it and outgrew it but it is still managing to bring in newer players every year.

Same with mine. My bestfriend growing up did have a father that did play video games which was rare. He actually started playing on PC back in the day and carried on with console gaming when my friend was old enough.

I know a number of people that still play. I think it could use some sort of major refresh though. I got bored with it a few years ago and have not played since. Going on modded servers helps but I just can't retain interest. It is still a great game.
