What is your view on AI?

I thought I would ask here since this is technically under the tech niche. I have mixed feelings about it. I can see how it will and does benefit us but at the same time, I can see how it will hurt a lot of creative talents and actually take jobs from people.

That and it seems like an easy tool that can be used against us in the future if we are not careful!

    Thoughts?

AI is here and not going anywhere, whether we like it or not. I think it would be wise to have things in place to protect people though and I hope there is legislation and such that is in the works for it.

This is what bothers me. Cause like, I get that it is not going anywhere and that has me worried but no one, like NO ONE seems to be putting protections in place for every day people as business owners, consumers, etc.

The thing happening with Taylor Swift really got my attention. I don't care about her or her music but learning that this is a trend that is effecting school grade kids is infuriating. A few young girls took their lives over it. Something has to be done about this!

I think AI used in the correct way could benefit society in many ways with how quick the systems can retrieve knowledge and present it in a simple easy to use way. I don't think it will ever be good enough to be trusted with high security information that could cause problems around the world therefore would require some kind of shutoff failsafe.

Heard about this trend starting a couple years ago and it is completely out of hand now. Like Taylor has the money and the team to cope and do something about it but all these kids do not. It is disgusting behavior and should be charged as a crime when it comes to minors.

AI is just going to be another social media experience. It will come with positives and a heck of a lot of negatives. I almost wish social media didn't blow-up so much honestly. I was fine with just using forums. lol

I am in high hopes to keep the forums going as I still believe that they are more personal than the big social media platforms are. There is also a lot less hate posts and abuse due to how forum can be moderated easily.

AI is going to ruin a lot of people's lives and destroy a lot of careers and opportunities. It will not be pretty.

I have never liked the concept of AI and now that it is here and getting out of hand, I want nothing to do with it. I refuse to use anything of the sort even if it makes my life easier. I watched enough movies about robots taking over and killing everyone. No thanks!!! lol

I noticed this too and I think the reason behind this is that evil people in positions of power want to make sure they have their loopholes and hands all over it before they write in any sort of law about it.

Yup and I agree, she can manage it but it still don't make it right. Public figures shouldn't be subject to this stuff either. But yes, the crap happening to other people, especially kids... It makes my skin crawl and my blood boil!! 🤬

People getting social media burn out but still wanting to socialize online will return to forums. I know reddit is still the biggest draw away from forums (and discord in some ways) but the privacy issues and general "politics" of both platforms has cause a lot of people to leave them. I am one of them. I will never used either platform again.
