Have not played so I have no personal experience here but I can tell you that other people have the same complaint. A friend of mine was having this issue. He ended up solving it or at least making it stop for a bit by pressing the xbox button and going home and then going back into the game. It is not a solution but it makes the error/issue happen less.
Oh shoot thank you for this man! It actually did work. Sometimes it keeps happening and other times it keeps the issue away for awhile. Either way it stops it and I don't have to worry about losing progress!

Glad I could help. I believe they did do some updates since I posted this, at least one and a friend said it fixed the issue for him completely so make sure your game is up to date and hopefully it fixes it for you too.
Whelp, it seems like everyone kind of lost interest in this game at this point. I have gotten pretty far and essentially beat the game now and I am bored with it. The lag issues with multiplayer kind of ruined it cause I would have been playing with others if there was not those issues. No one I know plays it anymore though. Everyone moved on.

There are still quite a few people playing it but no where near a million. I think the player count will pick back up as they work on the game and update it.
