How much do you typically spend on games per year?

I started to budget my spending more a handful of years ago when I realized how much I was spending on gaming, it was honestly WAY too much. I have since cut out a lot. I stopped doing subscriptions, I play more free games, and I only buy new ones after I am able to see full reviews and feedback from trusted players I know that enjoy the same games I do. I will never be buying another AAA title when it is brand new. Far too many times were they awful. I will wait a month or two for legit reviews from real people.

So as of now, I only allow myself to buy 2 AAA titles per year.

It depends on what is coming out. Some years I end up getting more games, but there have also been years where I just didn't buy any new games. I am fine with playing older games I hadn't touched in awhile too.

I really don't have a budget and it isn't something I track. I know when consoles are newer, I do spend a lot more those years compared to others. I try to find deals and sales when possible.

Seems like I am spending less and less every year. I play a decent number of free games or older games that I have already had. Not very many new titles are appealing to me. It is sad. I used to have at least 2 or 3 games every year I wanted to play now I am lucky to find 1 new one.
